The Bucks County Bar Foundation Civics Project (“Project”) strives to promote civics education and engagement in Bucks County through an increased understanding of civic rights and responsibilities and enhanced civic participation.
Our programs cover a wide range of topics, including the structure of government, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, how laws are made, the role of courts, civic responsibility, voting and elections, and real-world case studies that bring the legal system to life.
Our team of experienced educators, legal professionals, and civic leaders are available to visit your school and deliver interactive sessions on government, law, and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
Our programs are designed to make civics and law come alive for students of all ages. Whether it’s understanding how government works, exploring the courtroom process, or learning about individual rights and responsibilities, each session connects classroom learning to real-world experiences.
This course offers different features for different grades. K – 2: What’s Worth Keeping? The County’s Memory Box. 3 – 5: The Most Useful Document You’ll Ever Own — A Passport. 6-8: How to Change Your Name in Pennsylvania. 9-12: Public Records, Public Power: Searching the Civil Docket.
This course offers different features for different grades. K – 2: Is That Fair? Honesty Counts in Our Community. 3 – 5: Words That Get Things Fixed. 6-8: Case File: A Bucks County Consumer Investigation. 9-12: First Apartment, First Contract: Tenant & Consumer Rights at 18
Students will explore the foundation of American government by learning how the Constitution was created and why it still matters today.
Students will discover how local governments impact their daily lives more directly than they might expect.
